LISTENING TO FEEDS OF DISASTER COMMUNICATIONSIRESC sometimes takes 'listen-only' feeds of disaster communications, either via VoIP or even directly via HF/VHF/UHF radio gateways or online receivers. Therefore it is worth checking on the IRESC Echolink conference (node 9Z4FZ-R) if you are interested in monitoring live emergency communications. If you connect to a IRESC conference during activations, you may find that your station has been 'muted' to prevent interference to the emergency communications - we ask that you accept this restriction. If you have traffic to contribute under these conditions, please make this known to the IRESC Net Control Station by typing a suitable message into the Echolink chat box. WEB STREAMING OF IRESC AUDIO
From time to time, IRESC may set up a web stream carrying audio from the IRESC Echolink conference server or other radio source. This may be at the request of a legitimate group or agency, or for press and information purposes. The web stream is provided on a twentyfour hours a day basis.

For example, if communications traffic is of a sensitive or secure nature, the audio may be disabled. IRESC encourages interested parties to monitor activity via this stream. This prevents inadvertent interference to emergency traffic, reduces confusion for the NCS and lightens the bandwidth demands on the IRESC servers.
